ABOUT THE FREERIDE WORLD TOUR

The FWT is much more than a simple competition; it is the "home of freeride." The organization, managed by FWT Management SA and based in Verbier, Switzerland, has been organizing leading sports events in mountain resorts worldwide since 1996. The FWT was born from the transformation of the famous "Xtreme Verbier," an iconic event founded by the company, into a prestigious world series in 2008. The competitions are held in four main categories: Ski Men, Ski Women, Snowboard Men, and Snowboard Women. Instagram: @freerideworldtour

The FWT Spirit at the Summit: The Celebrated Partnership

The Alpiner Extreme Automatic Freeride World Tour Special Edition marks the ninth year of the partnership between Alpina and the Freeride World Tour (FWT). The two entities share a common spirit, characterized by the love of the mountain, a desire to push limits, and a sense of audacity. This special edition is a representation of this spirit of commitment, precision, and daring, shared by the riders who brave the elements. For the first time, the gray dial features the iconic FWT logo – a stylized line descending a mountain – instantly symbolizing freeriding and the summits. The screwed-down case back is also engraved with an exclusive, non-limited Freeride World Tour motif, dedicated to those who share this spirit of freedom and extremes.

Designed for the Extreme: Robustness and Alpine Details

Designed for the Extreme: Robustness and Alpine Details

This watch was designed for the great outdoors, merging the canons of traditional watchmaking with all the specifications of an outdoor piece. The compact 39 x 40.5 mm case in brushed and polished stainless steel features a gray bezel reminiscent of Alpine rocks; its size, the smallest of the two Alpiner Extreme diameters, was chosen to facilitate its sliding under a jacket sleeve or long gloves, reflecting this special unisex edition. It is equipped with an AL-525 Swiss Made automatic caliber, offering a 38-hour power reserve. With water resistance up to 20 ATM/200 meters, it can handle snow falls and summer water sports. The black rubber strap, resistant to cold, shock, and UV rays, and the rubber-clad screwed crown ensure a firm grip, even with gloves.

Performance and Readability in Action

The gray dial features a negative relief triangular pattern and includes a date window at 3 o'clock – practical for freeriders to track key competition dates. The attention to Swiss Made detail is evident: the applied indices and the hour and minute hands are silver-colored and filled with white luminescent treatment for optimal readability. The seconds hand stands out with its emblematic red triangle. The assembly is protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
