    ALPINA WATCHES LAUNCHES THE  “WORLD ALPINIST CHALLENGE” ON FACEBOOK TO FIND ITS “AMBASSADOR OF GREATNESS”. SPOKEPERSON OF THE CHALLENGE IS AURELIEN DUCROZ.

    To mark its 130th brand anniversary in 2013, Swiss watch manufacturer alpina launches the “World Alpinist Challenge” on Facebook from the 21st of May to the 21st of July 2013.

    The challenge involves telling a personal story of greatness to the world. The story with the most “likes” wins and the author becomes the 2013 alpina’s “Ambassador of Greatness”. Spokesperson for the challenge is Aurélien Ducroz, two-time ski Freeride World Champion and now “Vendée globe” Sailing race candidate, who fully embodies the five alpina principles which are the theme of the challenge.

    The five alpina Principles
    alpina was founded in 1883 by a group of people known as the “Alpinists”. Since then, all customers, retailers and employees of alpina are collectively known as “The Alpinists”. What united them in the past and what unites them today are five shared principles:

    1/ BE PERSEVERANT
    2/ THINK INDEPENDENTLY
    3/ TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS
    4/ FIND YOUR LIMITS
    5/ DON’T FORGET YOUR ROOTS

    It is the consistent applications of those five “Alpinist” principles that have assured the ultra centenary success story of alpina watches.

    The “World Alpinist Challenge”
    We all have - at least once - applied one of the Alpinist principles in our lives thereby achieving something great for ourselves or for the others. The alpina “World Alpinist Challenge” is about telling and sharing this big or small personal story of greatness to the world.

    Once on the alpina Facebook page, you will be able to join the “World Alpinist Challenge” Application and, from the five, choose the Alpinist principle you once applied to achieve a great result for yourself or for the others. You will be able to tell your story to the world either in text, video or photo and post it on the alpina “World Alpinist Challenge” Facebook application. You can also link you story to the alpina watch you believe represents best your story and the principle you choose.

    The prizes
    The most “liked” story at the end of the challenge on July 21st 2013 will make the author alpina’s 2013 “Ambassador of Greatness” and he or she will also be awarded with the watch he associated to her or his story. The “Ambassador” of greatness will be the spokesperson for alpina’s values until the end of 2013 and will take part in alpina’s brand activities.

    The second and third most “liked” stories owners will receive the watch associated to their personal stories.
