TWO NEW ALPINA SEASTRONG DIVER HERITAGE TIMEPIECES COMPLETE THE COLLECTION AFTER THE SUCCESSFUL INTRODUCTION OF THE FIRST RE-INTERPRETATIONS
Super Compressor diver’s watch
When the first Alpina 10 Super Compressor diving watch was introduced in 1969 it featured two crowns, one of which was used to control the internal rotating bezel that measured elapsed time through a 1-60 min scale. The ‘Seastrong’ was water resistant up to 200m, anti-magnetic and had the characteristic super-compressor case. To pay tribute to this historical collection Alpina has launched since 2016 the “Seastrong Diver Heritage”.
More than a replica, this is a modern interpretation of pure Swiss watchmaking classic aesthetics and a corner stone to any vintage diver’s watch collections.
The watch
Adjusted to modern standards, the new Alpina Seastrong Diver Heritage bears a 42mm bronze color PVD stainless steel case with two screw-in crowns at 2 and 4 o’clock. The top crown has a grid-like pattern and is used to adjust the rotating inner diving bezel while the bottom crown is used to set the time and date, the watch resists water pressure up to 30 bar, corresponding to a diving depth of 300 m/1000ft.
The Alpina Seastrong Diver Heritage uses an automatic movement based on a Sellita SW 200 movement modified by Alpina and named caliber AL-525. This is a 26-jewel self-winding caliber with a 38-hour power reserve and 28,800/h frequency. Available with an elegant brown color dial it features a brown or cream color rotating inner bezel with brown or beige markers, a date window at 4 o’clock, rose gold-plated indexes and hands with white luminous treatment.
Overall, the watch shows great accuracy and a retro look making it a timeless everyday watch.
