DAY 1 – 02 AUGUST – PREPARATION AND DEPARTURE DAY

For Børge Ousland and Vincent Colliard, succeding on an expedition lies greatly on the preparation. One day before the start of the Icelegacy project glacier number 1, you find them in Longyearbyen planning the route across main Spisbergen glacier, 13th largest on earth. Concentration time where Børge is establishing the route and while Vincent's taking all the GPS positions. "When you are in the white-out, you are glad to know where the cracks are" says polar legend Borge Ousland.

The last moment in Longyearbyen before going at sea aboard sailing boat Skydancer. On deck, Børge and Vincent are securing their gear for the 2-day sailing trip.
