Ugo Troubat

Born in the heart of the French Alps, in the resort of Les Arcs, Ugo Troubat embodies the new generation of French freeriders. Introduced to skiing atthe ageof two, Ugo was quickly seduced by the wide open spaces and freedom of off piste skiing. At the age of 15, he decided to devote himself fully to freeriding by joining the Freeski Academy in Les Arcs. In 2016, Ugo began competing on the Freeride Junior Tour. His talent and determination quickly earned him his first podium finish, taking 2nd place in Nendaz, Switzerland. He then went on to compete in a series of events, qualifying for the Junior World Championships in Andorra in 2017 and Kappl in Austria in 2018. Ugo continued to climb the ranks and racked up podium finishes on the junior circuit, including 2nd place at the Verbier Freeride Week Juniors 2* and two wins at the Freeride World Qualifier 2* in Chamonix in 2020. Building on these successes, Ugo has set himself a new goal: to join the Freeride World Tour, the benchmark competition in the world of freeride. To achieve this, he entered the 4* Freeride World Qualifier with the firm intention of finishing in the top 3. In 2021, he had a remarkable season, finishing 8th in the European FWQ rankings and 3rd in the French FWQ rankings. His performances in Nendaz (2nd place) and Engadinsnow (6th place) bear witness to his steady progress and his ability to compete with the best. In 2022, Ugo confirmed his status as one of France's freeride hopefuls with a string of good results on the FWQ: 6th place at the Open Faces Silvretta Montafon and 7th place at Jasna Adrenalin. With his fluid, committed style, technical mastery and passion for the mountains, Ugo Troubat is an athlete to watch closely.
