Sybille Blanjean

Swiss freeride skier Sybille Blanjean grew up in Verbier, where she developed a passion for the mountains from an early age, encouraged by her parents. At the age of 12, she made a decisive decision to devote herself to freeriding,abandoning the more structured environment of traditional alpine skiing. This bold decision marked the start of a remarkable career. Her talent and commitment have catapulted her to the top of the world stage, notably with her victory at the Xtreme Verbier 2022, her first appearance at this prestigious event. Running at home, surrounded by her nearest and dearest, was a dream come true for her.  She continued to impress in 2023, reaching the podium with a third place in Baqueira Beret and an impressive second place overall in the Freeride World Challenger. She won again in Georgia at the 2024 Freeride World Tour.  As well as competing, Sybille also produced her first video project, ‘Verso’, opening the door to a new career. A new project filmed entirely in her native Verbier is also in the pipeline for winter 2025. When she's not on the slopes, she enjoys other outdoor activities, such as kitesurfing, road biking and trail running. Sybille Blanjean embodies passion, determination and versatility, inspiring many mountain enthusiasts through her performance and lifestyle.

What motivates you to surpass yourself every day?

What motivates me to excel every day is firstly my passion and love for skiing and the mountains, and then the pleasure of sharing it with my friends. We push each other to be better and better, while having fun and enjoying ourselves.

What is your best sporting memory?

My fondest sporting memory is without a doubt my victory at the Verbier Xtreme in 2022 when I took part for the first time. In front of my family and friends, it was truly magical.

What message would you give to young people who want to follow in your footsteps?

The message I would give to young people is to believe in your dreams and give yourself the means to achieve them, no matter what obstacles get in your way, persevere and always remember why you're doing it!
